E-Shop Implementation

E-commerce is increasingly becoming a  “digital” business method in recent days, weeks and months, especially during “pandemic”. Customers look for opportunities to find another business channel to cover the loss of their business.  Buying parts from home starts to be standart for all customers even in truck business. 

To build its own eshop has thus become a necessity for every company that not only wants to increase its sales, but also wants to get closer to its customers.

Therefore, when you decide for eshop implementation, it is important to find suitable partners who could best fit customer requirements, timeline and price range. 

We in TAXAPA can arrange how to do it right.  We conducted a deep dive into market research for one of our customers by choosing eshop providers.

But there are three pillars one must take into account by eshop implementation as well.

The first is how to find parts and parts information (TecDoc, Microcat).

The second is how to access available catalogs (price, availability).

The third is how to process orders (ERP, DMS).

Undoubtedly, more players may join the three pillars club. CRM Integration, Messaging providers, etc.  But those three you should not ever skip. Think about that. 

In December 2020, we were approached by our customer, the company STABO, the largest DAF Trucks dealer in Slovakia.

We received the task of summarizing the requirements for the eshop for trucks, managing risk, getting a better understanding of technical parts, and finally the selection of the right partner that will deliver the eshop to STABO. Indeed, it was a challenge, because eshop implementation for trucks is a very special project. 

  • At the beginning of 2021, we collected all the customer requirements. 
  • In March 2021, we began market research, which included review price, licensing, contract preparation. We interviewed potential partners intensively.  
  • In May 2021, we evaluated selecting a suitable eshop provider and we start with implementation.The implementation consisted of ERP interface development, eshop data preparation, catalog implementation, testing and initial setup. From our point of view, the biggest challenge during the implementation was the specialized data for Trucks.
  • In September 2021 we successfully launched the first eshop for Trucks in Slovakia
  • We are proud to have been involved in the whole process of its creation.
